Cor Boys A  1  Springfield Ramblers A  5

The lads were left regretting missed opportunities in today's cup game. Both sides missed chances in the first half with the away team finally converting to make it 0-1 going into the second half.

Despite the home team increasing their shots on goal  Springfield upped the  pressure and continuous clinical passing between the team resulted in another 4 goals before Brandon Idah scored a well taken consolation goal in the last 2 mins. Final score 1-5

FAI Junior Cup

Ard Na Laoi  0  College Corinthian 7

The Corinthians Junior squad travelled to Kerry Pike on Sunday morning and came away with an emphatic  7-0 victory in this second round FAI Junior Cup clash.

Corinthians started well and were denied on several occasions by some excellent saves by the Ard Na Laoi keeper. The breakthrough finally came on 27 minutes when following a fine run and cross from Richie the ball was deflected into his own net by one of the Ard Na Laoi defenders.  Shortly afterwards Dave Mc Carthy added a second with the first of his two goals on the day.  Just before the break the game was finished as a contest  when Cathal Dodds scored with an explosive free kick.

Corinthians started the second half well and it was not long before Dave Mc Carthy and Cathal Dodd had made the score 5-0 . Corinthians with John Quirke, Rory Burke and Ian James outstanding  added two more before with second half substitute Cian Devine scoring twice.  The Corinthians defence were excellent throughout keeping their first clean sheet of the season. So a fie outing for the team and a second win in a row and plenty to build on in the weeks ahead.

Corinthians Squad on the day: Gerard O’ Connell, David Maguire,  Ronan Whyte, Stephen French, James Kelleher, Ian James,  Richie Cronin, John Quirke, Cathal Dodd, david Mc Carthy, Rory Burke, Cian Devine, Mark O’ Driscoll, Ian Tobin.
