Kilworth  1   Corinthian Boys A  3

Displaying great character Corinthians Under 12A squad overcame an interval deficit to make it through to the next round of the National Cup courtesy of three second half goals.. It was a gutsy performance from the Corinthians lads as despite having the better of the first half they found themselves going behind five minutes before the break  when Kilworth availed of hesitancy in the Corinthians defense to score from close range .

Corinthians were back in the game five minutes into the second half when Liam Mc Grath raced through from halfway to score with a fine finish. The game was now in the balance with playing swinging from end to end but it was Corinthians who jumped in front when Max Helay out David Bennet through on goal and David finished superbly giving the Kilworth keeper no chance.  Corinthians were now getting on top and it came as no surprise when Adam Young made the game safe when he added a fine thurd from close range.

A fine effort by the Corinthians squad with all sixteen players making a contribution to a fine team victory.

Leonard Gould Cup

Cor Boys A  6  Kinsale  0

Following a few bad results the lads were hoping for a good result in the Leonard Gould cup. Playing on the back pitch on a dry, mild day the team started well stringing some good passing moves. It took 6 mins for the first goal when Roger Timon scored from a last gasp clearance following a shot from Matthew O'Driscoll.

15 minutes later history was made in what could well be the goal of the seasons when Alex Lane, scoring his first ever goal for the club, placed a 20 yard shot high and right of the keeper.

The goals kept coming and 5 minutes later we saw another super long distance volley from Dylan Buckley.  Newcomer Sandro scored the 4th with a magnificent solo run.  He also provided the assists for the 5th goal from Daragh Egan and the 6th from Luke Noonan (scoring his first well earned goal in 2 years).  On 60 mins Roger got his second goal before Ben Quilligan coolly slotted the 8th goal from a great piece of individual work from Mark Harrington.

In a day that Andrew O'Brien and Mark Harrington as strikers and Kevin Walsh as goalkeeper as well as Alex Lane scoring his first goal ever this game was the game that the lads won't forget for a long time.

Under 15 National Cup

Corinthian Boys  5  Buttevant  1

aving won a very hard league match last week against Greenwood it was hard to expect the team reach the same heights again in the next game, Buttevant came prepared to defend and that is what they did, Corinthians had the lions share of possession but despite a few chances they could not find the opening goal,

It wasn't unitl the 29th minute when a Buttevant defender caught he ball on his own line was the deadlock broken. He was sent off and Adam Idah scored from the resultant penalty, 2 more goal quickly followed before halftime from Alex Minihane and Adam Idah.

In the second half Corinthians while maintaining possession did not really use their numerical advantage, it took a goal for Buttevant in the 44th minute to get them back on track. 2 goals quickly followed from Ricardo and another from Dean Harte.

The team return to league action next week at home against the same opposition.
