Under 15 Premier

College Corinthians U15 Premier 4 Springfield Ramblers 1

The Under 15 Premier opened the 2015/16 with a comfortable victory, home to Springfield. Having been appointed Captain for the season, Scott Philpott opened the scoring inside the 1st 2 minutes with a powerful shot to the bottom corner, which the keeper could do nothing about.

6 minutes later, the always impressive Adam Idah, stretched the lead with a fine headed goal, he carried on with another goal on 15 minutes. The team, with a number of newcomers making heir first start for the club, began to find each other with passes. This couldn’t have been better demonstrated when in the 23rd minute a move starting with goalkeeper, Cathal Hynes, went through 5 more players before being cooly finished off again by Adam Idah, to complete his hattrick.

The team continued to create a number of chances as the game moved into the the 2nd half but did not find the net. There were some notable contributions but at the end of the day it was a great team performance especially as it was the first league game of the season. Springfield did manage to find the back of the net in the second half but rarely threatened outside of that.

The team have another league game om Monday night when they are at home to Ringmahon, followed by another game next saturday away to Macroom.
