Mallow Utd.  0  Corinthian Boys 3

The Under 13 Premier Team had another good victory away to Mallow. On a difficult pitch the boys found it difficult to play their normal passing game. They attacked from the start with Fionn Molloy causing a lot of confusion down the right wing.Corinthians continued to press, creating a number of chances against a packed Mallow defence. After 15 minutes David Fox won a ball out on the right hand side of the box and his shot cleared the keeper finishing in the bottom corner of the net.Brian Hayes and Jeff Holden were always in control in midfield, continually pressing  the Mallow defence. A corner taken by Brian Hayes on 22 minutes was finished off by Scott Philpott for his 1st goal of the season.

The second half continued with Corinthians continuing to attack, with both full backs, Sean Dunlea and Killian McGowan involved. The centre back pairing of Scott Phillpott and Jack Mcfall were never under pressure and played well throughout. The 3rd goal came in the 52nd minute, when the dominance became a goal. A shot by Matthew Healy was added to by Leo Barron which put the keeper the wrong way. Corinthians had a number of other chances but couldn’t find the target.Team: R.Lombard, S Dunlea(O.O’Keeffe 52) K.McGowan(L.Edwards 40) J.McFall, S.Philpott, J.Holden, F.Molloy(M.Hill 52), B.Hayes(M.Healy 45), A.Idah(R.Dinanga 50) D. Local Cup

Lakewood Ath. A   0  Corinthian Boys  A  2

Corinthians were on top throughout but a combination of good defending and some poor finishing meant that the match went into extra time. Despite the heavy conditions the lads played some good football and created 3 clear cut chances but they failed to take any of them. Andrew Greany broke the deadlock 2 minutes into extra time when he ran onto a pass from Ruairi Moriarty and placed a left foot shot past the keeper. Joseph Harte scored Corinthians second with a superb strike from 25 yards after some good play from Brian Lagrue. The lads are now looking forward to playing Cors Boys B in the second round.
