Cup glory for Under 12’s
Corinthian Boys 3 Midleton 0
On a memorable night for the Club, Corinthian Boys under 12 Premier squad captured the local Cup with a fine victory over a very gallant Midleton side. It has been a fantastic season for our lads, a real team effort and this was certainly the case again tonight as all sixteen squad players contributed to this excellent victory.
Having overcome Ringmahon Rangers and Rockmpount on their way to the final Midleton were always going to provide stern opposition and this was certainly the case as despite conceding an early goal; for much of the opening half they more than matched Corinthians.
Corinthians opening goal came from centre back Daniel Squires, but they had to wait until the second period before making the game safe, first Robert Geaney O' Brien who had been lively all night made it 2-0 and shortly afterwards David Welch scored the goal of the game with a superb strike to make it 3-0.
Congratulations from everyone in the Club to the management team of Mark, Michael and John and to all the players and families on a great achievement, you have done yourselves and your Club proud.
Our thanks to the Cork Schoolboys League for once again ensuring that everyone involved with the Corinthians team had a fantastic evening one that the kids especially will remember for years to come.
