Corinthian Boys Under 13 Premier complete League and Cup Double
Corinthian Boys Under 13 Premier squad played out a 1-1 draw tonight away to nearest challengers Greenwood thereby clinching the league and cup double for the second year in a row, a fantastic achievement which both the players and coaches should be extremely oroud of. Though not at their best on the night Corinthians did enough to secure the point they needed.
Great credit must be given to Greenwood who have pushed Corinthians all the way in this year's league race and hve been excellent in their two recent meetings with Corinthians. However it is a night for Corinthian Boys Under 13's to celebrate another fantastic season, they have played some outstanding football at times with all eighteen players involved making a great contribution. The players have been fortunate to have the guidance of coaches Stephen Bermingham, Dermot Murphy, Michael Baron, Craig Donnellan and Ger Lombard and the support of brillant parents who have been there when the players needed them most and have made a huge commitment in getting their sons to training twice a week. It has all added up to a team that has copleted the league and Cup double. Well done to all concerned.
Their thoughts will now turn to next weeks trip to Spain where the team will take part in an international tournament, certainly something to look forward too. The successful Corinthians squad was
Adam Idah, Brian Hayes, Cillian Mc Gowan, Conor Murphy, David Fox, David Murphy, Fionn Molloy, Jack Mc Fall, Jeff Holden, Leo Baron, Liam Edwards, Mark Hill, Oisin O' Keeffe, Richard Lombard, Ricardo Donniga, Scott Philpott., Sean Dunlea, Tadgh O' Sullivan

In what proved to be a tense and nervous game, Corinthians came out of this match with the point they needed to secure the U13 Roy Keane Premier League title.
The first 20 minutes was chaotic with the ball spending more time in the air than on the ground. Gradually Corinthians began to to put two or three passes together which helped to settle them down.
Greenwood where dominating in midfield with very few opportunities created by either side. In the 25th minute Corinthians forced a corner. The corner was perfectly delivered by Leo Barron to the head of Jack McFall who saw his initial header come back off the cross bar but he was on hand to finish strongly into the net.
The corinthians players were giving it all, with Scott Philpott commanding and Adam Idah covering acres of ground..
In the 55th minute a free kick was conceded on the edge of the box and finished with a fine left footed strike by the Greenwood player. This led to an anxious last few minutes but the teams spirit saw them through to the end.
This completed a league and cup double for the team which is great achievement and follows on from doing the same last year.
All the squad deserve a special mention for an outstanding season which could not have been achieved without their commitment, dedication, contribution and spirit. Thanks to one and all.
The team move on to their penultimate league game at home to Carrigaline on Saturday at 10.30.
