On Sunday 20th June, College Corinthians hosted an U9 girls soccer blitz organised by the Cork Womens and Schoolgirls Soccer League. 19 teams and 200 girls from Riverstown, Douglas Hall LFC, Lakewood Athletic, Passage, Kinsale, Wilton, College Corinthians, Leeside, Springfield Ramblers, Midleton and Avondale participated in 3 hours of football and fun.
In addition to the excitement of the blitz, there was a great surprise for the young footballers as Megan Connolly, former College Corinthians player, Irish Senior International and Brighton & Hove Albion player paid a visit. Megan provided encouragement to the young players and happily poised for photographs with the budding football stars. Megan is pictured above with some of the Corinthian Girls that played in the blitz. FAI President Gerry McAnaney was also at Corinthians and very kindly called into see the girls in action and gave them great words of encouragement.
Thanks to CWSSL for organising the morning.

The Corinthian Soccer Academy for boys and girls is on every weekend and further details are here.
