Three Corinthian Boys Players selected as CSL Players Of The Year at Under 13, 14 & 15 Age levels
There was great news for three members of our schoolboy section today when the Cork Schoolboys League announced their Annual Award winners for season for 2014 / 15; the awards honour Players Of The Year at each age group from under 11 to under 16 and this year Corinthian’s players were selected as CSL POTY for under 13, 14 and 15 Age levels.
Mathew Healy was selected as CSL under 13 POTY, he has been outstanding all season as his team captured the local Cup, reached the National Cup final and are still involved in a two horse race with Blarney Utd. for the Under 13 Premier League title.
Adam Idah has been at the forefront as Corinthians Under 14 squad made it three Premier League titles in a row scoring some spectacular goals including the two goals that clinched the league title on the last day of the season away to Carrigaline. He will be a key member along with Scott Philpott of the CSL squad heading to Limerick for this year’s Kennedy Cup
Beineon Whitmarsh O’ Brien has been outstanding all season as Corinthians Under 15 Premier squad chased a hat trick of Premier League titles, his goals and all round play were crucial as Corinthians pulled clear in the title race eventually winning the title by ten points. Beineon was also outstanding for the Cork Schoolboys League side as they won the Munster Title. He is a most deserving recipient of the CSL U15 POTY award.
The players will be the first to recognize that they could never have won these awards without the support of their teammates and coaches and everyone involved deserves great credit.
The Awards will be presented at a function hosted by the CSL later this month
