Corinthian Boys 5  Carrigaline Utd. 0

Having overcome the same opposition last week in the national Cup we were well prepared for any backlash Carrigaline would have in store for us. In an excellent first half performance we eventually found the breakthrough we deserved when Alex Minihane managed to force the ball over the line having had his original acrobatic volley saved.  The striker is in top form and he tormented the Carrigaline back four throughout. A second quickly followed with Leo Barron’s cross come shot finding the top corner. It was three just before the break with Alex Minihane using his exceptional pace to latch onto Dean Harte’s brilliant through ball before being taken down by the Carrigaline keeper. Daragh O’ Connell duly dispatched the resulting penalty which meant that at halftime we were 3-0 up.

After the break we never let our intensity drop and further goals from the in form Ricardo Ndinaga, a well taken long range effort, and a great goal from Andrew Greaney ensured a resounding victory for our lads. In a day where the entire squad were really on their game, Adam Hunt, Dean Harte and Alex Minihane were outstanding but man of the match was Mathew O Reilly who put in an exceptional performance both in terms of creativity and workrate.
