Corinthian Boys  1  Lakewood Ath.  0

This was a vey tight and keenly contested game between 2 teams who no doubt will be contesting for honours at the business end of the season. The 1st half finished 0-0 though Lakewood’s keeper made a fine save from an excellent Ben Weldon shot in the 20th minute.

Corinthians increased the tempo of their game in the 2nd half and were starting to create half chances. Good use of substitutions gave Cors added impetus with Rory Barron and Tom Kelly making a good impact on the game. Another sub, Adrian Thiabout netted the winner with 15 mins to go when getting on the end of a defensive mix up.

Cors held out for a great win with a strong defensive performance despite the best efforts of an excellent Lakewood side.

Division 2

Cor Boys A  3  Carrigaline Hibernians  0

Cor Boys made a fine start to the new season with this hard fought victory over Carrigaline Hibernians. Corinthians played very well on the day particularly in the first half when their football deserved more than a singe goal from Stephen Samuel with the Carrigaline keeper in superb form.

Carrigaline came more into the game in the second period and it took some resolute defending from Liam Mc Grath, Dylan Ryan and Net minder Daniel Walsh to keep them at bay. However Corinthians killed the game off when David Bennet scored his sides second having been put through by the excellent Max Healy and a third goal followed late on following great work by Ugo Okankwo. Fiachra Twohig, Billy Clancy, Tom O’ Mahony  and Ben Lynchturned in great performances on the day

Division 6

Carrigaline Utd. B  2 Cor Boys B  4

A thrilling contest which was a credit to both teams as they gave their all on a beautiful morning; six goals and there could have been many more as both sides  gave their all in search of victory. Corinthians looked the stronger side early on and raced into a two goal leads with goals from Scott O’ Hea and Michael Nugent but Carrigaline thundered back into the game and were level 2-2 after 20 minutes.

Corinthians crucially regained the lead just before half time when Junior Agbeko scored with a  fine strike from the edge of the area. . The second half was end to end With Robbie Coughlan outstanding at the back for Cors, Tom Higgins and Michael Nugent busy in Midfield and Conor Barry, Jack O’ Callaghan always dangerous; it was Corinthians who were to clinch the points when Junior Agbeko scored his second of the game from close range. Special mention for Goalkeepers Charlie Foley, Niall Collins,  Liam Gollis, Conor Brosnan, Fergal Desmond, Luke Williamson and Eghan Power who all made big contributions to the win.

Cor Boys A  1  Carrigaline Hibernians  0

The lads started their new season with a hard earned victory at home to Carrigaline Hibs. Despite spending much of the first half defending waves after wave of attack a beautiful pass from Sean O'Cathain opened the hibs defence and provided Daragh Egan with a chance to open the seasons scoring. A low ball to the right corner gave the goalkeeper no chance and the lads took a 1-0 after 17 mins.

Andrew O'Brien pulled of some important saves in both halves and the whole team kept their shape and composure to see out the 70 mins with a 1-0 victory.

Division 1

Fermoy 3 College Corinthians 0

Despite what the score suggests this was a fine team performance by Corinthians who matched Fermoy throughout the game and made it very difficult for their opponents to collect all 3 points. Cors were unlucky to concede late in the first half though an own goal but kept battling in what was a hard and always a difficult fixture. Daniel Tyner, David Lyne and David Mc Gregor played extremely well for Cors while another fine performance in goal by Sean Canny kept Corinthians in contention for
