Local Cup

Corinthian Boys  3  Leeside 0

After a poor run of form recently it was back to winning ways against a strong Leeside team who played some quality football. It took around ten minutes for us to get up to the pace of the game but once we had we began to dominate proceedings and establish our passing game. The first goal arrived after some excellent work on the left by Leo Barron and Daragh O Connell, they managed to find  Ricardo inside the box and the striker duly dispatched the opener. After the restart we continued to press and a second goal arrived when Ricardo again finished a well worked team move. The red hot striker completed his hat trick after being found by a brilliant pass from David Fox, making his return after an entire year out with serious injury. This was undoubtedly the highlight of the game and it was so pleasing for everyone to see David back after his dedication to his recovery from, his cruciate ligament injury. Others to impress on the day were Sean Dunlea, Adam Hunt, Alex Minihane and Fionn Molloy. The squad would also like to convey their condolences to Andrew Greaney’s grandfather who sadly passed away, may he rest in peace.

Under 17

Division One

College Corinthians A 2  Riverstown 1

Played in blustery conditions this game was decided by two superb pieces of skill with Shane Twomey scoring with a rocket strike from the edge of the area and Ruari Moriarty with superb skill and a calm finish. The three points keep Corinthians very much in the hunt for honours in this very tight league.
