Division 3

Corinthian Boys B  1  Park Utd.  0

This was a very tough game against a good and physically strong Park Utd team.  Corinthians started well and Brian Lombard had a perfectly good goal not given with the refereree being the only one not seeing it that way!

Corinthians, playing with the wind, were dominating the game and creating a number of good chances but it wasn't until the 23 minute that Corinthians took the lead. William Buckley capping a Man of the Match performance, getting on the end of a Diarmaid O' Regan cross to finish.  A couple of more good chances went a begging before the refs half time whistle.

The second half was always going to be difficult in the conditions but Corinthians defended brilliantly keeping their fifth clean sheet in 7 matches. They contained Park Utd to just one good opportunity and Brian Lombard hitting the post for Corinthians as the game became more open.  Corinthians held out for a great 1-0 win and in addition to William, Diamaid O'Regan was excellent on the right wing and Shane Tobin on top in defence.

A Collins, J Fox, S Tobin, D O'Regan, E Nagle, W Buckley, B Lombard, D Bennett, S O'Leary, R Coughlan, E Power and D Odigie.

Premier Division

Corinthian Boys  3  Wilton Utd.  2

The Under 14 Premier playing their first match since the 14th December were
a little bit off the pace, falling two goals behind in the first 15 minutes to a determined Wilton team. However, to give the team credit they never panicked and set about their business with their usual determination.

Adam Idah was forefront to the teams recovery scoring a fine goal after 20 minutes to start the recovery. Some good team play followed with the team getting more on the ball and linking up well. This led to a a pass up the wing to Adam Idah who set off on a strong and direct run, scoring from a very tight angle to bring the teams level just before half time.

In the second half Corinthians started stronger with Leo Barron starting a move from the left, playing 2 one twos which brought him to the edge of the box and rifling a low shot across the keeper to the corner of the net.

It looked like Corinthians would move on and add another goal or two but in fairness to Wilton they continued to make life difficult for Corinthians right until the final whistle.
