Munster Senior League Premier Division
Avondale Utd. 1 College Corinthians 2
Corinthians senior squad picked up their first league win of the season with an excellent away victory over last years league winners Avondale Utd. This was only Corinthians third league game of the season as successful runs in several cup competitions have meant they have fallen well behind in league fixtures played.
Manager Dave Ahern had seen his squad suffer some very disappointing defections in recent weeks but to everyones credit the side showed a great attitude on Saturday and battled hard to claim all three points. Aidan O' Mahoney put Corinthians ahead early on and having conceded an equaliser Corinthians picked themselves up again and Kevin Madden scored a dramatic winner.
Corinthians still had to survive 12 minutes of additional time to secure the three points
U13 Division 1
Corinthian Boys A 2 Blarney Utd 1
Corinthians started well and took the lead after 15 minutes when Ben Lucey gave the keeper no chance with a superb strike from outside the box. Lucey scored his second just before half time after intercepting a back pass. The lads were in control at this stage and went close to scoring a third goal. Ruairi Moriarty's left foot shot beat the keeper but was cleared off the line and Ben Lucey was unlucky not to get his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Moriarty was pulled down in the penalty area when he ran onto a fine through ball from Andrew Greany. Max Scanlon had an outstanding game in central defence and Corinthians back four gave Blarney's attackers few chances. Blarney scored with 5 minutes remaining but the lads hung on for a well deserved 2-1 win

Corinthians Boys A 4 ( Daniel Kelleher 2; Colm Power : Cian Barry ) Carrigtwohill United 2
Despite almost a six week break this was not only a good result but an excellent team performance all round.Corinthians started the game well and were the better team in the first half going ahead after 10 mins when Colm Power got on the end of a long throw by Aaron Purcell to put Cors in the lead.Carrigtwohill responded with an equaliser in the 22nd minute when Cors failed to clear from defence.Corinthians morale was down for a while until Cian Barry restored the lead with an opportunist lob from long range after great work by David Geaney O Brien down the right flank. After half time Carrigtwohill took the game to Cors and soon after equalised again when Cors again failed to clear from defence.Cors rallied again and Daniel Kelleher latched on to a through ball to put them back in the lead in the 72nd minute. Kelleher again found the net in the 79th minute after being set up by Aaron Purcell's great work down the left. A man of the match performance by midfielder Daniel Kelleher aided by Colm Power while Aaron Purcell and Cian Barry worked tiredlessly up front gave Corinthians a well deserved win.
