Great performance by 13A’s away to Youghal

The U13s entered the final 3 game strait needing a win to regain momentum after taking only 1 point in the last 4 games.

Playing into strong wind and low sun Youghal began the stronger and a failure to clear a good corner saw the ball in the back of the net after 10 mins. Youghal continued to pile on the pressure and came close on a few occasions. Despite the conditions and being a goal down the lads kept the heads up and managed to stay in touch going in at half time a goal to the worse.

The second half provided the lads with the wind at their backs and soon levelled things with a magnificent goal from Daragh Egan. Soon after a second goal from Dylan put the lads in control of the game. Despite the wind dropping and a resurgent Youghal Ian Turnbull was rewarded for another powerful game in midfield when he converted the third of the night. Daragh Egan wrapped it up with a 4th 10 mins before the end and was denied a hattrick having had his strike cross the line before another player being called offside.

An important 3 points and a huge thank you to guest coach Michael Nason.

Final score 4-1
