Great Club Night At The Dogs
The Club held a Fun raiser night at the Cork Greyhound Track last Friday night June 6th; it proved a spectacular success with a huge crowd creating a fabulous atmosphere as players, coaches and supporters of all ages joined in the fun that only a night at the dogs can create. There was a great buzz all night long but particularly as the dogs came around the final bend and the younger members of the Club cheered on their selection. If you backed the winner you probably found yourself in the middle of a swarm of blue and white as you went to collect your winnings.
Special thanks must be given to those who supported the night through their very generous sponsorship in particular our main sponsor the South County Bar & Lounge in Douglas and to our ten other race sponsors many of whom have been great supporters of the Club over the years. Special thanks also to everyone who took an advert out in the Race Night Program again your support was much appreciated and to all our Dog nominators and a big thank you to everyone who donated spot prizes. Finally to all who bought tickets and turned out in such great numbers young and old you were terrific.
Besides the 11 Dog Races we had our own Relay race as members from our under 9 to under 12 age groups participated in a fun relay race with great support from the crowd
There are several people within the Club who did Trojan work to make the night such a success namely Mark Hurley, Michael Nason, Len Fitzgerald, Neil Daly and all the team coaches and coordinators, again a big thank you from the Club.
