Fine win for U12 Premier in Carrigaline

Corinthians started very strongly in this game with Miceal O’Mahony & William Buckley dominant in the vital midfield area and Rory Barron offering great width on the left. The 1st goal came after 8 mins with Rory firing in a great cross for Alex Healy Byrne to nip in ahead of 2 defenders to finish smartly. This gave Cors good momentum to push on again and in the 11th minute Cors doubled their lead. The same 2 were involved with Alex getting on the end of a good save from Carrigaline’s goalie when Rory shot from outside the box.

Carrigaline showed why they were league champions last year and came more into the game but found Adam Collins in great form in Cors goal. 2 very good saves by Adam before half time ensured Cors went in at half time with their two goal lead in tact. The 2nd half was a very evenly fought battle with very few chances created. Tom Kelly hit the Carrigaline bar and Carrigaline’s no 8 had a great chance to reduce the deficit but headed over from close range.

Cors held out for what is a vital win and an excellent start to the season
