Cors U12 Premier maintain 100% league record with 2-1 win in Blarney

Under 12 Premier League
Blarney Utd.  1  Corinthian Boys  2

This was a very competitive game played to a very high standard by 2 teams having a great season to date.
Cors started very well and took the game to Blarney from the start. Despite having the lion share of possession chances were hard to come by with Blarney defending well. The breakthrough came for Cors when Fionn Crowley unleashed an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box after 18 mins giving their excellent keeper no chance.
However Blarney struck back 2 mins later with a well worked goal down the left with Aaron Healy finishing well to the bottom corner. The match was now a real contest with both teams testing each other.
The 2nd half Cors grew into the game and Blarney visibly tired but still carried a threat upfront however Alex Healy Byrne , Tom Kelly and Rory Barron stamping their class on proceedings. Corinthians took control of the game and Blarneys keeper made 3 fantastic saves to keep them on level terms. It was going to take something special to beat him and sure enough Rory Barron proved equal to the task. Tom Kelly won a free kick outside the box and Rory belted a powerful shot into the roof of the net. It was a goal worthy of winning any match and so it proved for another vital win.
The whole squad were again the difference for Corinthians with all making a massive contribution to the win. Other notable performances came from William Buckley, Adrien Thiabout and Evan Collins.
