Corinthians Under 18 Premier squad reach Munster Youth Cup final

Match Report Corinthians U16 Premier versus Douglas Hall

Result 1-0

Having not had a game for over a month it was evident that our lads were game rusty for the majority of the first half and we found ourselves extremely fortunate to be leading at the break courtesy of a shot from Daragh O Connell which found the net with a mixture of Fionn Molloy’s influence and a deflection from the Hall defender.

After the break we found our rhythm a little better but the squad know that the peruse be better going forward. On a positive note it was brilliant to see David Fox back training and nearing a full return.

Munster Youth Cup Semi Final

College Corinthians 4 De la Salle Waterford 3

A titanic battle which swung one way and then the other before Corinthians just about got the better of a fine De la Salle side. Down 1-0 after a minute, but 2-1 up after 25 minutes, Corinthians looked in control , but De la Salle roared back and were back on level terms before half time. Corinthians took control again early in the second half and deservedly regained the lead and again looked comfortable but to their credit De La Salle roared back again and drew level 3-3 ten minutes later. The game was eventually decided by hat trick hero Jordan O' Sullivan when he converted a penalty mid way through to the second half. Despite some late pressure from De La Salle Corinthians held on to clinch their place in the final where they will play either Avenue Utd. from Clare or Leeside from Cork.

Well done to the Management team of Michael Nason, Don Maher and Brian Mc Grath and to all the sqyad
