Corinthian players past and present making an impression at the highest level
Former Corinthians Schoolboy star David Meyler is looking forward to an FA Cup Semi final appearance at Wembley in a few weeks time when his Hull City squad take on Sheffield Utd. Not to be outdone young Eoghan O’ Connel; only 19 this year is making great headway at Glasgow Celtic and has been on the bench twice for Celtic in recent Scottish Premier League matches, both Eoin and David started out as six year olds with Corinthians
Locally; former Corinthians schoolboys Brian Lenihan, Dave O’ Leary, Ian Turner, Andrew O’ Connell and Matt Gledhill have all been regulars in Cork City’s squad as they have made an impressive start to the new League Of Ireland season.
Craig Donnellan recently played for the Irish schools team against Northern Ireland and Wales, scoring against Wales. Current Corinthians under 16 player Mark Buckley played for the Irish under 16 team in Holland during the week while four of our under 12 players Mathew Healy, Eoin Redmond, David Welch and Cian O’ Leary were on the Cork team in the Munster Championship over the weekend. In all the Club has twenty players involved with Cork Schoolboys League representative teams from under 12 to under 16
