Two second half goals cive Corinthians deserved win
National Cup The highlight of this weekend's action was our Under Eleven's exciting away victory in Killarney in the National Cup, There was also a memorable performance from our Under 15 A side who surprised Mayfield with a fine 4-1 victory. Killarney Celtic 0 Corinthian Boys 2 It was a close encounter in the first half with few chances for either side. Colin O'Brien was dominant in midfield, with Dean Swords and David O'Regan working tirelessly down the left. The break through came mid way through the second when Ross Welch and Bryan Cotter combined to cross it for Harry Shanahan who headed it in from close range. Jack Murray and Daniel Cullen were playing well for the visitors. Corinthians were always in control but Killarney Celtic nearly caught them on the break twice but Stephen Jermyn or Sean Desmond were always on hand to mop things up. The game was put beyond the home sides reach when Gavin Holland passed through to David Dalton who coolly slotted the ball home. They now meet Clonmel Town in the next round. Well done to all concerned. |
