Under 13 Premier join 12’s and 14’s in Cup Semi Finals

Corinthian Boys U13s are safely through to the semi final of the Local Cup after securing a 2-0 victory at home to Blarney Utd. Following their recent National Cup semifinal victory, there was always a danger that the boys would be slow to settle against this very good Blarney side.  However, it was clear from the start that Corinthians were fully focused on the task in hand and made a bright start to the match. Two fine first half goals from Robert Geaney O'Brien, after 9 and 28 minutes, ultimately proved to be the only scores of the match. The second half was largely an even affair with both sides defending well, each side having a goal-bound shot cleared off the line. Corinthians keeper Cian O'Leary also produced a fine save on 48 minutes to keep Blarney scoreless. Final score Corinthian Boys 2 Blarney Utd 0.

Team: C. O'Leary, S. Cotter (D. O'Sullivan 55),  E. Redmond,  D. Squires,  S. Cantillon,  G. Coomber (M. Redmond 45), D. Meade,  M. Healy,  M. Nason (J. Leonard 35), J. Harte (D. Welch 35), R. Geaney O'Brien (D. Ohonkwo 55).
