Under 13’s join under 12’s in local Cup Final after 5-2 victory over Everton
Cup Semi Final
Everton 2 Corinthian Boys 5
On a lovely sunny evening Corinthians took on Everton in a tight tense semi final on their home pitch. Everton were well up for the match and took the game to Corinthians in the first 15 minutes. However, two great runs by Adam Idah and Leo Barron resulted in near misses past the left hand post.
After absorbing the initial pressure, the Corinthians team started to take control with some nice passing. On 20 minutes a corner from the right hand side was headed home by Jack McFall. 2 minutes later a strong run by Adam Idah resulted in the everton defender turning the ball into his own net.
At this stage Corinthians were firmly in control but a lapse in defence on the stroke of half-time left Everton in for a goal to leave the game finely balanced at the break.
Immediately on the restart Corinthians upped the pace and after 2 minutes Adam Idah finished off a run with another goal. This was quickly followed by a lovely goal by Fionn Molloy.
Everton got a small bit of hope when Corinthians conceded a penalty, however another goal by Fionn Molloy finished off the match as a contest.
The team move on to the Local Cup final on Wednesday against Douglas Hall.

Under 12 Cup Semi Final
Mayfield Utd. 0 Corinthian Boys 4
Corinthian Boys qualified for the final of the local Cup with a good victory over a good Mayfield side. Corinthians opened the scoring after five minutes when Robert Geaney O’ Brien scored from close range. Despite being on top Corinthians could not add to their tally until the final twenty minutes when second half substitute Destiny Scored two tremendous goals to ease Corinthians through to the final. This was a great team performance with Corinthians strength in depth proving decisive in the second half.
The final will take place in Turners Cross next Tuesday night when Corinthians will take on a very talented Midleton side which on route to the final has recorded fine away victories away to Ringmahon Rangers and Rockmount. The game will kick off at 6.00pm and we will be hoping that members of the Club will get behind our under 12’s and turn out in great numbers to give them the support they deserve.
