Under 12 Premier secure points against Midleton

Corinthians Boys 2 -1 Midleton

Corinthians maintained their 100% record at the start of the season with a hard fought victory over a very useful and improving Midleton team. Cors had the better of the early exchanges but Midleton had the 1st clear chance but Adam Collins got down to make a fine save. Cors took the lead in the 13thminute when Rory Barron drilled a great shot past the keeper after good play by Adrian Thiabut. The same two combined again 5 mins before half time with Rory finishing off a fine move and capping a fine 1st half display. That’s how the 1st half finished with Corinthians seemingly in control.

Midleton came back strongly in the 2nd half and the game was much more competitive. Alex Healy Byrne had a goal ruled out for offside rather harshly and this would have finished the game off. However it was a catalyst for a Midleton fight back and their play was rewarded when they were awarded a penalty with 10 minutes to go. It was expertly finished and Corinthians were happy to hear the final whistle.

Another good display from the whole squad with Evan Collins Rory Barron and Adrian Thiabut outstanding.
